How We Use Your Data

When You Visit Our Website

When you visit our website, we collect your IP address and User Agent, which identifies the type of web browser and device you use. We also log the URLs (web addresses) you visit on our site. We do this to protect our website against malicious activity, such as hacking and denial-of-service attacks.

We use two third-party services, Google Analytics and Hotjar, to collect information about how you interact with our website. Your data is anonymised and combined with that of other visitors, and neither Mobula nor the service provider can identify you personally. If you would like to opt out of this usage of your data, see Cookies below.

When You Contact Us

When you contact us by email, through social media, or by letter, you may provide us with your name, email address, social media handle or correspondence address, and any other information you choose. We store this information only for the purposes of providing customer service and support. We never use your contact information for direct marketing.

Unless you provide specific instructions to retain or delete your data, we will automatically erase any information you send us after a period of time, in accordance with our Data Retention Policy.

Sharing Your Data

We do not sell any of your personal data to any third party.

We do share some data in a secure manner with our service providers, such as Google Analytics and Hotjar, as necessary to help us run our business. These data processors can act only on Mobula’s instructions and cannot use your data for any other purpose.

We may securely share your data with a third party under certain circumstances:

  • if we are under a duty to disclose your personal data in order to comply with a legal obligation or to fulfil contractual obligations with you;
  • if we are acquired by a third party, in which case personal data about our customers will be transferred to the acquirer.

Where We Store Your Data

We primarily store your data within the European Union.

Some data is transferred outside the EU by our data processors under appropriate safeguards, including the EU-US Privacy Shield Framework. Mobula periodically reviews its data processors and maintains written Data Processing Agreements to ensure that the necessary safeguards are in place to protect your data.

How Long We Keep Your Data

Our Data Retention Policy, which is available upon request, defines how long we keep different categories of data before permanently erasing them.

You have a right to request that we delete your data at any time (see Your Rights, below). However sometimes we need to keep data to meet legal or regulatory requirements and prevent fraud and abuse.

Your Rights

You have a right to be informed about how your data is used, which is why we provide this Privacy Notice. If we make any major changes to how we use your data, we will endeavour to inform you beforehand.

You have a right to access the personal data we hold about you and the right to rectification if any of the personal data we hold about you is incorrect.

You have the right to erasure (also known as the “right to be forgotten”), the right to restrict processing, and the right to object to processing of your data in some circumstances. For example, if you have previously sent us personal information by email, you have a right to request that we delete those emails.

You have the right to data portability, in that you can request that we transfer your data to you or to another service provider in a suitable format.

Finally, you have a right to complain to your data protection regulator, which in the UK is the Information Commissioner’s Office.

We use third-party analytics cookies from Google Analytics and Hotjar. These provide anonymised data about your device and how you interact with our website, to help us improve our site.

We do not use any targeting or advertising cookies.
